At rikta, we’re on a mission to reduce churn for deskless workforces by providing better hiring and engagement tools, with AI playing a crucial role in that journey.

I recently sat down with Yury Galustov, the Head of Technology at rikta, to learn how building rikta from scratch has given the rikta engineering team a unique opportunity to create a product truly flexible, free from legacy constraints, and capable of delivering new features faster than you can say “hire well the first time.”

For Yury and his team, building rikta from the ground up, with AI at its core, was a dream come true. The freedom to start from scratch meant they could use the latest in serverless architecture, powered by Amazon Web Services, ensuring rikta is fast, scalable, and adaptable to rikta’s customers' needs. Unlike traditional systems that can take months to deploy updates, our modular design allows the team to roll out new features daily, sometimes even faster.

“Flexibility and speed are key,” says Yury. “We’ve built a process that lets us quickly respond to our customers’ needs, whether we’re launching new features or enhancing existing ones.”

Our mission with rikta is clear: reduce churn in deskless workforces. By democratising hiring tools like psychometric testing that had previously been reserved for leadership roles or corporate environments, rikta is enabling hiring managers of casual and part-time teams to make more data-driven hiring decisions ensuring fit for a role and the company culture.

Rikta’s hiring tools allow hiring managers to quickly determine whether a candidate is a good fit for both the role and the company culture. The platform simplifies complex psychometric data into clear, actionable insights, meaning you don’t need a psychology degree to understand the psychometric test results. With the help of  OpenAI, rikta provides managers with a deep understanding of a candidate’s personality traits plus guidance on tailoring communication to each individual’s personality.

This AI-first approach leads to faster, smarter hiring decisions. As Yury explains, “We help managers not only identify potential concerns in psychometric reports but also highlight strengths and alignment, making it easier to match the right people with the right roles. You can even identify traits of your top performers and hire similar like-minded individuals.”

While many companies opt for hybrid development in mobile apps, rikta’s strategy is to develop native application for iOS and Android. That way, the rikta engineering team has greater control over features and functionality, ensuring a better user experience and smoother integration with platforms` native features.

“Hybrid apps may work for some,” Yury says, “but we knew from the start that native development will provide the flexibility we needed to deliver the best experience.”

Looking Ahead

AI is not just revolutionising hiring; it’s shaping the future of team growth and employee retention. As we continue to innovate, rikta will expand in areas such as learning and development, helping businesses hire smarter, nurture talent, and retain top employees.

“AI will be at the heart of how we deliver features, whether it’s supporting better hiring decisions or enabling growth within teams, but science underpins everything in rikta” Yury explains.
